What does it mean to be unapologetically you?
Confidence? Resilience? Knowledge?
To me, it means being so anchored in who you are, that no matter how big the emotional storm, you’d still be standing there comfortable with who you were down to your core.
Unfortunately for many of us we’re not taught about knowing who we are. Or, how to stand by our truths, how to create boundaries to honour ourselves or show the confidence to own who we are when faced with fear.
It’s human nature to want to be accepted by others. And, for some of us we can take this to an extreme - where we get caught in a pattern of people pleasing tendencies. Being what we believe the people in our lives want - instead of shining our own light on the world. Robbing not only ourselves, but the people in our lives, of our true self.
Discover who you are. What lights you up and what you stand for and share it with the world - that’s what being unapologetic is about. You have unique gifts that are currently being hidden or restrained - but if you were to own them fully, what would happen? Or better yet what could happen?
When we are able to find love, acceptance, and trust within ourselves- that is where the magic begins to happen.
“There is nothing more rare, nor more beautiful, than a woman being unapologetically herself; comfortable in her perfect imperfection. To me, that is the true essence of beauty.” ― Steve Maraboli
This is what I wish for all of you - being comfortable in your perfect - imperfections.
